All about shampoo and conditioner! (featuring Sexy Hair products)

Hey guys! So today I wanted to tell you all about finding the right shampoo and conditioner. I'm not a pro, but this is what I have learned!

Alright, so first thing is drugstore vs. professional. I know what you are thinking, "Professional products are so expensive I can't spend that kind of money." It's true, they are more expensive, but in the long run they will save you money. Say you buy Suave or Tresemme shampoo and conditioner - although they smell good they are not very concentrated so you end up using handfuls of the product and you run out within a couple weeks. If you buy a professional product, you only have to use a quarter sized amount, so you end up not having to buy a new shampoo and conditioner for two or more months which in the end will save you a TON of money.

I have been using the Silky Sexy Hair Shampoo and Conditioner:

I bought these both for around $9 each at Peerless Beauty Supplies, but you can find Sexy Hair products at a salon or sometimes even in your local drugstore. These are professional products so these have lasted me two months and I'm still not out of them. They are absolutely amazing.

Silky Sexy Hair products are commonly used for people who have dry hair. I, personally, have a dry scalp so it works great on me, but since I cut my hair super short it makes it so my hair gets greasy faster, so I probably won't be repurchasing. If you have longer hair then this would work great!

DO NOT buy dandruff shampoos unless you absolutely need it - to the point where your dandruff is making your scalp itch and causing bumps, this is because shampoos made to to help dandruff go away commonly strip your hair. What I mean by strip is it takes all of your natural oils off of your hair because it's so strong.

This also applies to most clarifying shampoos in the salon we use clarifying shampoos on clients who are getting perms or have a lot of noticeable damage. These shampoos should not be used on color treated hair unless you are purposely try to strip the color. Clarifying shampoos does exactly what it sounds like - clarifies. This means it's main goal is to try and get all of the damaging things out of your hair, like hair color.

Another fantastic thing about professional hair care shampoos and conditioners is that most professional lines make shampoo and conditioner specifically made just for you!

Sexy Hair is basically my favorite hair care line and I swear this isn't a sponsored post but these are great products and I hope these will give you a bit of incite as to what to look for when you are buying a shampoo and conditioner. Not to mention they are one of the most inexpensive professional products.

*pictures and product quotes were found on ulta.com*

These are products specifically made for short hair  to give it that edgy and volumizing style that all short hair needs.

"Short Sexy Hair products are specially designed to help create unique, high-impact styles for endless styling possibilities."

This is my absolute favorite line from Sexy Hair. All of these products contain soy wheat which is amazing for your hair. Not to mention they smell AMAZING.

"Healthy Sexy Hair is a perfectly balanced line of products that provide nutrition and moisture to dry hair."

This line is probably the most well known product line form Sexy hair and includes the first ever product ever made from Sexy Hair, which is the Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Hair Spray.

"Big Sexy Hair products are designed to give hair incredible volume and fullness while keeping strands perfectly moisturized."

Curly Sexy Hair is specifically made for curly hair, these products are not meant for straight hair to become curly (aka scrunching your hair).

"Curly Sexy Hair products help nourish hair with ultra-moisturizing ingredients for smoother, bouncier and more defined curls."

These products are made for dry and frizzy hair.

"Silky Sexy Hair products deliver superior conditioning, softness, smoothness and shine for all multi-textural hair types."

These are made for straight hair and help control those pesky fly aways.

"Straight Sexy Hair products are created to smooth even the most stubborn curls while protecting hair, locking out humidity and combatting frizz."

The difference between Healthy Sexy Hair and this version of Healthy Sexy Hair is that this is meant to reinvent your hair and help keep your color treated and heat damaged hair healthy.

"Healthy Sexy Hair Reinvent hair care products are created to extend the life of hair color and to repair slightly or overly damaged hair."

I hope you all enjoyed this post and learned a little bit about how to buy shampoo and conditioner and what it right for your hair. Let me know what you think of Sexy Hair products if you try them out. Also, let me know what products YOU use on your hair. :)

Love you!!

Galaxy Inspired Nails

Hey guys! Last night I was looking through my nail polish collection and found this gorgeous, glittery polish that reminded me of a galaxy. I'm not the best at painting nails, but I fell in love with the way it turned out. It was so simple as well!

-I used a black polish as a base - ELF polish in "Black"
-Then used NYC polish in "Starry Silver" as the "galaxy"
-Then finished it off with Sally Hanson Hard as Nails polish in "Invisible"

Sorry for the shitty pictures, but I wanted to get this up because I literally am in love with this color combination.

Easy as that! I really suggest picking up "Starry Silver" it makes a fantastic sparkle to any base.

Love,
Lauren

Review: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup

Hey guys! Welcome the the first ever Makeup Monday! Cheesy, I know! Today I thought I'd do a review on the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup. This is definitely my new favorite foundation.

The color I am in is Natural Ivory (number 20). This product claims to keep skin looking young and healthy, and have a light weight formula. It also has SPF 20.

I personally am in love with this foundation. The only bad part is the fact it doesn't have a pump (as seem in the picture below, so you have to poor the product on your back of your hand to apply.

When applying the product, you only need a little bit. A little definitely goes a long way! I apply this product with my EcoTools Retractable Kabooki. I have really dark circles around my eyes, so a full coverage foundation is always a must. A lot of foundations can feel heavy on your skin, but the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup feels really light and I often forget I have it on. I can just apply this and go when I'm in a rush.

Below is an awkward before and after picture. The only thing I am wearing in the after picture is the Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup.

BEFORE
(notice the dark circles that make me look tired)

AFTER
(The circles are gone and I look awake)

I hope you enjoy this little review. Here is a little more information about the product.

- Costs $9.99
- Can be bought at any drugstore or online at http://www.Neutrogena.com
- Comes in 12 different shades

Love,
Lauren
